PATNA: RJD suffered a major embarrassment on Friday when a verbal duel between former MLA and Bihar Yuva RJD chief Satish Paswan and youth wing’s office-bearer Dhananjay Sharma in Patna resulted in a scuffle forcing Paswan to take out his gun.
The incident took place in the presence of RJD secretary general Ram Kripal Yadav. A visibly embarrassed Lalu Prasad had to rush to the office and announce dissolution of Yuva RJD’s state and national wings.

He also announced the cancellation of a Yuva RJD conference scheduled for June 9. ‘‘We will not tolerate rowdy elements both within the party and outside,” Lalu thundered.
Lalu, whose regime was noted for havoc created by rowdy elements, declared that he expected his leaders to select persons with clean image as office-bearers. “But apparently some rowdy elements have been made office-bearers,” he said, conceding that the incident sent a wrong message across the country. “I strongly disapprove of the incident and I would like to assure the people that we will throw out the elements responsible for the incident,” he said.
The RJD chief said that a three-member committee, comprising state party president Abdul Bari Siddiqui, and former MPs Ram Kripal Yadav and Alok Mehta, will probe the matter and submit him a report.
